August: Faith

Morning Meditation Psalm: Psalm 29
Song: “Haven’t You Been Good”

Faith for Community

“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.” (Ephesians 2:19-22)

Pray for….

-Community built on the Word and centered in the Gospel
-Fresh faith to be the people God has called us to be
-That we would be aware of God’s presence as we gather
-Establishment of meaningful friendships
-Consistent participation in Covenant Group ministry
-Church characterized by godly conversations
-Commitment to fellowship and consistent attendance
-Flourishing of unity and holiness
-Humble pursuit of accountability and correction
-Freedom from bitterness, jealousy, gossip, and other enemies of relationships
-Those on “the fringe” to feel welcomed and connected

December: Faith

Morning Meditation Psalm: Psalm 51
Song: “O Great God”

Faith for Change

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18)

Pray for….

-God to give us faith to take steps toward change
-Our attitudes and behaviors would be transformed and renewed by the Gospel
-We would live a life characterized by repentance and faith
-That we would be experiencing increased freedom in our lives
-That we would be “beholding the glory of the Lord” — seeking God by His Word and through prayer
-Covenant Group ministry would be a means for accomplishing lasting change
-That we would be a community of “people in need of change helping people in need of change”

December: Faith

Morning Meditation Psalm: Psalm 13
Song: “Solid Rock”

Faith in Trials

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him” (James 1:1-5)

Pray for….

-Strengthening of faith for all in the church who are suffering
-God to heal those who are physically afflicted
-Comfort for those who are mourning
-Depressed to sense the nearness of the Lord
-God to give faith to the church to pray for healing
-Restoration of broken relationships that have caused pain
-Peace and trust for those who are questioning “Why?”
-We would be a church filled with people who are steadfast under trial, who hope in God, who love Jesus more than our own lives or comfort, and who are a witness to the world in our suffering.

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find graace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)
