The Mission of the Church

Morning Meditation Psalm: Psalm 145
Song: “All I Have is Christ”

Community Outreach

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under foot. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:13-16)

Pray for….

-Increased gospel-influence on the community
-That LCC would be a “city on a hill” to the glory of God
-Burden on the hearts of this church to show the love of Christ
-Growing passion for God’s Kingdom
-Continued effective connecting with our neighborhood and the surrounding region
-God to give us wisdom as to how we can best serve the city in which he has placed us.
-Other outreach ministries to pray for: Alpha/Beta; Mercy Ministry; Living Alternatives; One Heart Nola; Next Generation Ministries; The Bridge; Healthcare Solutions

-Strengthening of Dean as he leads in this season
-Discipleship for the children at the Ranch who have come to faith in Christ
-Restoration and healing for the children who have experienced pain and brokenness

Mission of the Church

Morning Meditation Psalm: Psalm 32
Song: “High Above All Things”

Evangelism

“In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:4-6)

Pray for….

-Our church to have an increased passion for both corporate and personal evangelism
-We would be “ministers of reconciliation” (2 Cor. 5) wherever we go—in the home, at work, etc.
-God’s blessing on our Alpha Course
-Visitors to the church to feel welcome and at home
-Spirit to reveal Jesus Christ and his salvation to unbelievers
-That we would be freed from the fear of man and laziness and other sins that hinder evangelism
-That God would give us a burden for the lost and their state

Mission of the Church

Pray for….

-God would give us an increasing burden for the Great Commission—making and caring for disciples through the planting and building of local churches.
-That God would position LCC to better serve churches in our area and in our surrounding region
