March: Mission of the Church

Morning Meditation Psalm: Psalm 145
Song: “All I Have is Christ”

Community Outreach

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under foot. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:13-16)

Pray for….

-Increased gospel-influence on the community
-That LCC would be a “city on a hill” to the glory of God
-Burden on the hearts of this church to show the love of Christ
-Growing passion for God’s Kingdom
-Continued effective connecting with our neighborhood and the surrounding region
-God to give us wisdom as to how we can best serve the city in which he has placed us.
-Other outreach ministries to pray for: Alpha Course; Christ Cares Cancer Ministry; Mercy Ministry; Living Alternatives; In His Hands; Next Generation Ministries; The Bridge

March: Mission of the Church

Morning Meditation Psalm: Psalm 32
Song: “High Above All Things”

Evangelism

“In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:4-6)

Pray for….

-Our church to have an increased passion for both corporate and personal evangelism
-We would be “ministers of reconciliation” (2 Cor. 5) wherever we go—in the home, at work, etc.
-God’s blessing on the upcoming Alpha Open & Alpha Course
-Visitors to the church to feel welcome and at home
-Spirit to reveal Jesus Christ and his salvation to unbelievers
-That we would be freed from the fear of man and laziness and other sins that hinder evangelism
-That God would give us a burden for the lost and their state

February: Health of the Church

Morning Meditation Psalm: Psalm 63
Song: “Blessed”

Prayer Ministry

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16)

Pray for….

-We would be a healthy church—and thus a praying church
-Growth of an intercessory community
-All members of the church to respond to the call to pray
-Times of corporate prayer to be filled with believing hearts
-Personal prayer and communion with God to be valued and met with God’s favor
-Bearing of one another’s burdens through prayer
-Our prays to be God-focused and Kingdom-minded
-Prayer to support and saturate everything we do as a church
-God would bless our times of prayer with tangible expressions of his presence
-God would lead us to pray in ways that reflect his will and his purposes

February: Health of the Church

Morning Meditation Psalm: Psalm 86
Song: “Thank You for Saving Me”

Salvation & Growth

“…and the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved” (Acts 2:47)

Pray for….

-Unbelievers who enter today to be warmed by the Gospel
-Those in the church with false assurance to be truly convicted of their sin and to be saved
-Increased passion for personal evangelism among us
-That we would be a church characterized by the Great Commission: disciples being created and cared for
-Believers without a local church to find a home among us
-That we would be a growing church—growing in number, in mission, in godliness, and in the gospel
-God’s blessing again on our Alpha Course (& Alpha Open), upcoming Beta Course, and other ministry avenues for gospel growth
