Corporate Targets – 10.27.07

On Mondays, the targets from the corporate prayer gathering on Saturday at 9a will be posted here. Here are this past weekend’s targets:

“Multi-Generational Growth”
“One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. …They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds” (Ps. 145.4, 6)
Children
-Parents to effectively train them in the formative years
…Consistent discipline
…“Shepherding†the heart
…Forming a “God-entranced worldviewâ€
-Older children would be discipled & led to genuine faith
-Hearts of teenagers to be postured toward their parents
-Youth to be protected from temptation, rabid sensuality, & peer influence
Families & Singles
-Our church to see the manifestation of “he sets the solitary in a home†(Ps. 69.6)
-Families & Singles to be proactive in their pursuit of each other
-Our homes to be characterized by Kingdom-living and self-sacrifice
-Parenting, evangelism, and mercy-ministries to be viewed as community projects and not solitary affairs
Elderly
-Elderly in our church to maintain a sense of God’s mission and to discern where God has called them in this season of life
-The mature to invest in the next generation and “pass the baton of faithâ€
-Those who have been long-time members of our church to experience God’s pleasure in their persevering commitment to his people
-Those who find themselves beginning to say “I have fought to good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith†to know that there is a “crown of righteousness†laid up for them (2 Tim. 7-8).
