Jul 23rd, 2007 by pfadmin
On Mondays, the targets from the corporate prayer gathering on Saturday at 9a will be posted here. Here are this past weekend’s targets:
—-
“The Supremacy of Christ in Missions”
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matt. 28:18-19).
We live in an age that is very concerned about “outreach†but refuses to attribute supreme and exclusive authority to Christ. But this passage directly connects the supremacy of Christ to the commission of the Church. Last week, our prayers highlighted the supremacy of Christ, and this week our prayers will highlight the ministry and outreach of the church.
Intensive Missions: Local Impact
-Disciples to be made through ministries such as the preaching of the Word and the gathering for corporate worship
-Ministries such as the Pivot, Youth Group, and Next Generation to plant seeds of the Gospel in the colleges and schools of the city and in the families and homes of the church
-For the training and raising up of new leaders to further the Kingdom at LCC
Extensive Missions: Community Impact
-Our church and other local churches would know God’s heart for this city
-Strengthening of mercy ministries – caring for needy, hungry, and poor
-Care Team and Operation Replant would effectively connect with the community
-Harvest of souls would be brought into the Kingdom as we step out into the neighborhood
Extensive Missions: Global Impact
-The children and staff of Rancho 3M in Mexico
-The Sovereign Grace Leadership Team
-Our sister churches in foreign countries to persevere in settings that oppose the Gospel
-Our sister churches in America to be guarded from materialism and worldliness
