“The Supremacy of Christ in a Postmodern World”

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matt. 28:18-19).

We live in an age that is very concerned about “outreach” but refuses to attribute supreme and exclusive authority to Christ. But this passage directly connects the supremacy of Christ to the commission of the Church. This week, our prayers will highlight the supremacy of Christ, and next week our prayers will highlight the ministry and outreach of the church.

The Supremacy of Christ in the Christian:

Christ to be supreme in our hearts
Christ to be supreme in our thoughts
Christ to be supreme in our time
Christ to be supreme in our finances
Christ to be supreme in our activities

The Supremacy of Christ in the Family:

Christ to be supreme in our marriages
Christ to be supreme in our parenting
Christ to be supreme in the lifestyle of our singles

The Supremacy of Christ in the Church:

Christ to be supreme in the doctrine of the church
Christ to be supreme in the gathering of the church
Christ to be supreme in the relationships of the church
Christ to be supreme in the outreach of the church
